Jess Kimura on Cooler

I just happened upon this image of Cooler Magazine with our old pal Jess Kimura on the cover. Don’t worry if you have never heard of Cooler Mag, neither have I. But I can tell you they are an all women’s surf, snow, street & style magazine out of London UK. How’d I know that? The internet. Yup, a keyboard and a google search. So anyway, know you know. Jess if your reading this, you are a true inspiration. When I first met you, you where covered in dirt and blood and you were drunk. I was astonished and intrigued. And then you blew me away with your drive. I remember you asking me what it took to get sponsored and all that and I just gave you the simple advice to work hard, go bigger then the boys and never settle. Well you took it to heart. Nice work.

Now it seems like Jess is ‘big time’, you’d be hard pressed to get her to return a Facebook msg and her feed is littered with travel photos and all the bruises and glamour that comes with being ‘pro’.  A real rags to riches story I guess. Knowing Jessica, I’m sure she’d punch me in the arm and disagree. But I like the way it sounds so I’m sticking with it. Word of the day: Focus.
