My buddy Cam came into town last night and told me that we are in the direct path of a jet stream from Japan that could be carrying nuclear radiation. Or something. He said we all needed to buy some liquid potassium liodide to protect our selves. I was mildly amused by the situation so I followed him to London Drugs to talk to the pharmacist. Sure enough paranoia had set in and they were all out of stock. Cam managed to find some down town but after that all the stores in Squamish were sold out. You believe dat shit? It’s true. The pharmacist assured us we probably had nothing to worry about, but he didn’t really know. It appears to maybe be a hoax? I really don’t know what to make of it all, but I snapped a photo of Cam any way for the history books. Cam’s into this sort of thing and I’m sure he’s already working on a fall-out shelter for 2012. Save me a spot bud.

We could have the next Shaun White on our hands here…

Ok I know I just posted about great free media but coooome on. This tops the cake. I’m guessing this one may have a tad bigger budget. Blauvelt’s Backcountry is easily one of the most realistic reality TV shows about the life of a professional backcountry snowboarder. The makers have successfully captured the feeling of the job and provided a linear storyline for the every day quest for new terrain. What defines a pro’s pro like Jake is his ability to consistently perform under varying circumstance and condition while being aware of the cameras and still trying to keep it fun and original. A noble task no doubt. Anyway enough nob gobbling, check this shit out.

Creeped this one over at skatmatic of our long lost son Mike Klinkhamer. I’m sure there’s a whole summers worth of footy just waiting to come out of this ramp. It’s nice to see Mike with the first edited video (first one I’ve seen anyway). The place aint even done yet. Big props to Stuntwood crew for donating the time, love, money and energy to make this place blossom.

YES is one of my favourite snow companies out there right now. I love everything they got going. Mikey is just such a natural, what a great spokesman for Whistler boarding, and the Hockenstein footy is just gold. These episodes are the shit, nice work guys, by far some of the best free media going right now in my books.
