Ye I’m back, thats right, and I’m blogging tha shit outta the arts, nawsayin?!?!!??! So get prepped kids cause this shit ain’t always elementary. Stoked to the power of ten for the little post i got for you here today. Not just because Benny and Dave Ehrenreich from Don’t Sleep Productions are our severe homie’s and not just cause they make great skate video’s but because they got together with Ali and filmed this little video and i had nothing to do with it. I’ve know Ali since she was 15 and i’ve always thought she was the coolest, even before i found out she could sing like a 40 year old diva. I know what your saying….dude your old! What were you doing hanging with 15 year olds? Well you see that’s the thing , Ali’s from Whistler, and in Whistler kids grow up quick. Having an immense talent always kinda seems to play second base to running around and getting laughs with the older kids. I remember Ali and her friend Jessie use to run around Whistler Village claiming that their gang, the Street Cobras where “Hard as Fuck”. The Street Cobras’ main hang out was the Alpine bus stop. That was only a couple years ago, perhaps they still do that, perhaps you could drive up to Whis and go over to Alpine and they’ll be sitting there in the bus stop doing God knows what- perhaps planning the earthly demise of Gnarcore. Shit! could you imagine it? Street Cobras V.S. Gnarcore in a winner-takes-all-no-holds-barred match to DEATH to see who is the most Hard as Fuck…could be epic. One day we found out Ali could sing and that she actually performs and plays her piano for a job. I was blown away and impressed that she didn’t stick in our faces, I bought her CD (which i didn’t even know existed) and w ith the permission of her Dad, we used her soulful rendition of Nirvana’s Lithium in the credits of The Power Normal. And that my friends is a true story.
